To enhance its operations, Serene Microfinance Ltd is seeking a qualified Loan Recovery Officer to join its team and handle loan collection and recovery processes.
Loan Recovery Officer Responsibilities:
- Monitor and track outstanding loans.
- Develop and execute plans to recover overdue loans and owed amounts.
- Achieve assigned loan recovery targets.
- Locate and communicate with debtors.
- Regularly update account statuses and maintain the database.
- Adhere to legal requirements when pursuing legal action is necessary.
- Address customer inquiries or complaints.
- Negotiate payment deadlines and repayment plans under supervisor guidance.
- Foster trust with debtors.
- Identify system inefficiencies and recommend improvements.
Requirements, Skills, and Qualifications:
- A minimum of two years of experience as a Loan Recovery Officer in a microfinance institution or bank.
- Understanding of relevant legal requirements.
- Strong negotiation and persuasion skills.
- Proven ability to meet targets and work under tight deadlines.
- Effective team collaboration.
- Excellent time-management and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in English and Swahili, both written and spoken.
- A degree in business administration, finance, or a related field is preferred.
Educational Qualifications:
- University degree or equivalent in business administration, finance, or a related field.
- At least one year of experience in a similar role.
