Job Opening: Property Manager
Embassy of Sweden, Dar es Salaam
The Embassy of Sweden in Dar es Salaam serves as Sweden’s representative in Tanzania, fostering business, trade, development cooperation, and offering consular and visa services. The Embassy employs around 40 staff members.
Position: Property Manager
Reports to: Head of Chancery
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the daily operations of embassy properties, ensuring smooth functionality of all facilities.
- Collaborate with the Embassy and the Swedish National Property Board on maintenance, repairs, and renovation projects.
- Handle property budgets, monitor expenses, and prepare financial reports.
- Ensure compliance with local property management laws and regulations affecting embassy operations.
- Act as the main contact for tenants, addressing concerns and promoting a positive living and working environment.
- Establish and enforce security measures to protect embassy properties and occupants.
- Conduct routine inspections and audits to maintain property standards in line with embassy expectations.
- Coordinate with service providers to ensure uninterrupted service delivery.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Head of Chancery.
Qualifications and Skills Required:
- At least 5 years of experience in property management, ideally within a diplomatic setting.
- Advanced knowledge of mechanical systems, plumbing, electricity, and other building systems.
- A degree in engineering or equivalent qualifications.
- Strong organizational and leadership abilities, capable of managing multiple responsibilities efficiently.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with fluency in English and Kiswahili.
- Valid Class C driver’s license and ability to drive.
- Proven skills in time management, organization, and prioritization.
- A dedication to delivering high-quality service and maintaining the embassy’s reputation.
